Provide Instant Information to Your Audience with QR Codes

QR codes are those funny little squares that you see on signs, in magazines, in stores, on postcards, flyers, etc. I even saw one the other day in a television commercial. These codes can store contact information, web addresses, SMS messages, and more.

QR codes are designed to be scanned by mobile devices. The code is scanned with a smartphone; the smartphone application interprets the code and carries out whatever action is stored in the QR code. The idea behind these codes is to provide information instantly.

REALTORS can utilize QR codes to provide instant information to potential clients. For example, codes can be placed on yard signs to provide additional listing information, or placed on printed material to guide prospective clients to web sites, a Facebook page, YouTube videos, Google maps, or contact information.  Organizations are placing them on t-shirts, bags, and other promotional items. Imagination is the only limit when it comes to using QR codes.

It’s easy to create and share QR codes. An Internet search will return numerous online services for creating, sharing, and tracking the utilization of your codes. Delivr.com is one such service. Give it a try and begin putting instant information at the fingertips of your prospective clients.

If you would like a QR code reader app for your device, just search for “QR Reader” in the Apple App Store, Android Marketplace, or Blackberry App world. There are tons of free ones. I’ve been using QR Droid and Barcode Scanner on Android and they both work great.

QR codes are gaining popularity. They are simple to create and becoming easier to use. Take advantage of them to engage your audience, drive web traffic, and promote your business.
