A New Era of License Law

Illinois’ new license law will raise the bar for real estate professionals in our state. And you will live through its changes! Learn by the example of Chicago REALTOR® Jill Hare, Jameson Real Estate. Jill joined an early test-run of the new broker license exam. She passed with flying colors.

Jill says: “I had been asking for additional information for a couple of months, to get a jump start. I wanted to complete it before the requirements increased, and before the market was busy.”

Jill was allowed 90 minutes to complete the new exam. She finished it in about 40 minutes. Her advice for Chicago REALTORS®?

  • “Pay attention to the practice materials but also review any study guides you have from the past. You’ll be well prepared and feel confident.”
  • “The testing environment is very strict. Don’t even bother bringing your cell phone. I found it more stressful to store it than leave it outside.”

The license law transition period runs from May 1, 2011, through April 30, 2012. For comprehensive information, visit ChicagoREALTOR.com/Education.
