Supporting the Emergency Fund

Today I had the opporutunity to present a $3,000 check on behalf of the Chicago Association ofGinger Downs, CAR CEO, and Nonie Brennan, Emergency Fund REALTORS®  to the Emergency Fund. The Emergency Fund is a great organization that C.A.R. has been involved with for many years, which provides immediate financial assistance to help low income Chicago area individuals and families through a crisis or transition.

The Emergency Fund provides Crisis Solution Grants to be used for Transportation passes, food vouchers, eye glasses, prescription medicine and clothing. Their Self-Sufficiency Grants assist families with rent, utilities, and basic necessities while the head of household completes an employment program.  Such grants have been used to support families while the father completed a job-training program, to support a single woman as she worked towards getting her medical degree certified in the U.S, and more.

The Chicago Association of REALTORS®  was able to raise the money through a raffel at our annual golf outing were members were generous enough to donate their hard-earned money to help those in need. I am honored to have presented the check, and look forward to future fund-raising initiatives with the Emergency Fund.
