How to Keep Up With it All: The Association is Your Greatest Resource

As with so many different professions in today’s environment, the tools of the trade are changing and evolving faster than the transactions are happening. As Chicago REALTORS®, we are fortunate to have a strong local association that is working to provide its membership the tools and the knowledge to use them.

Information has become fragmented on where we go to find it as a result of the internet. More and more I am finding myself going to the Chicago Association of REALTORS®(C.A.R.) Web site as my first place to look. It continues to be a work in progress as Association staff adds the content we need on a day to day basis or the links to the information we need. Whether I am looking for a contract, housing data, or information about the $8000 tax credit, the information is there or a click away.

Some information provided on the Web site is guides to legislative issues, forms and contracts and social media guides. Industry related events are posted as well as industry news and educational opportunities.

C.A.R. provides its members with Listingbook and Datalynx at no charge, both valuable tools. One is for lead generation, prospect and client management, the other for property data, much of which cannot be found in the MLS.

Spend some time browsing through chicagorealtor.com. See how much you learn and it won’t cost you anything but the price of membership.
