This Day in Chicago History

From the cover of the 1949 Chicago Sun-Times, on this day 60 years ago, President Harry Truman presented a 10-point plan to control inflation during a time of global economic fragility. His plan included the building of a million new homes and mandatory inflation controls, but was ultimately rejected by Congress.
