The art of the sale and social action

There has been a myriad of discussion centered on the "how" of the success of President-elect Obama's recent campaign. In my opinion, the critical component was the ability of the campaign to create a transparency in the vision of the candidate, which mirrored both the conscious and underlying ideals of so many Americans.
What we witnessed was the use of the art of the sale to mobilize millions of citizens in a call to action, based on shared ideals and a profound sense of need for the reward of that successful endeavor. The initial actions of a few dedicated volunteers spread a message and a method for accomplishing a greater goal (and in this case, good) than was achievable individually.
The great leap of the effort was in the viral transmission of the message and the validation, in its acceptance, that it represented the truths of so many Americans. The message was simple, concise and unbiased in its appeal.
To all of us, in an industry where a clear direction and a shared vision of prosperity in homeownership is being obscured by the current turmoil in the financial markets, there are valuable lessons in communication and a willingness to make educated decisions based on long term goals in what we have just been a part of, and witness to, on November 4th.
I ask you all to consider: how can you be part of the solution to the crisis of confidence we face today?

Dave, you are so on it and I love you for it. Obama did sell us and made us from whom I learned so much...you just don't know. You both are so cool, calm, confident, charasmatice and surprisingly approachable given your extraordinary achievements. All of which goes a long, long way. Thanks for making us smile while imparting your years of knowledge and experience in the real estate industry.
